Wayne Hickson
Managing Director
Prior to establishing his company HicksonMedia in 1999, Wayne Hickson was the Gold Coast City Council Public Relations Coordinator.
He worked in local government from 1980 to 1999 and was the Public Relations Coordinator during the amalgamation of the Albert Shire and Gold Coast City Councils in 1995/1996.
Some of his corporate clients over the past decade include such organisations as Telstra, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, Gold Coast Turf Club, Queensland Government Department of Communities Sanctuary and nine years with the Gold Coast Business Awards as the Event Coordinator and Media Consultant.
Wayne is a tutor and lecturer at Griffith University in Public Relations, Media Relations, News and Politics and Campaign Strategies and is a Teaching Fellow at Bond University.
On a community level Wayne is a member of the Lifeline PR Advisory Committee, a Director and Board Member of the Gold Coast Eisteddfod, an establishment member of the Committee of the Gold Coast Sporting Hall of Fame, is a former chair of the Southport Police Community Consultation Committee and a former area coordinator of the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal.

As a contractor to Infostrada Sports and the various Organising Committees, Wayne has worked in senior news service roles at:

- The Sydney 2000 Olympic Games;
- The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games;
- The Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games;
- The Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games.
